University of South Bohemia, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences

Faculty of Health and Social Studies is with about 2500 students the second largest Faculty at the University of South Bohemia. For highschool graduated it offers fourteen bachelor level and five master level courses. It has all types of study programs, including the right of habilitation and full professorship. From the beginning it is trying to bridge the gap between the medical disciplines and social issues, so that its graduates have a chance of the widest application in practice. By this the Faculty manages to educate professionals who can apply holistic, i.e. an undivided approach to man which handles the ill body, and soul. They are therefore able to help people not only to improve health, but also e.g. with integration into society or to solve social problems.

Every year the Faculty organizes or co-organizes dozens of international or national research conferences on various topics.
